About Us

Who Am I?

My name is Alex Kua and I come from Laval, Quebec.

I graduated on April 2016 in Computer Software Engineering @ L'École de technologie supérieure (Bachelor's degree) and now, i'm working to become a great web developer.

I also specialise in creating, designing and managing websites for various companies. Whether you'd like to start a website from scratch for your new project, or add a few special functionalities to your existing website or just need expert advice on web developing, I can help you.

CTO @ Co-founder @ SnapX June 2018 to Today

SnapX is an app that automates your bookkeeping and data entry. You simply take a picture or upload your receipts and SnapX decodes, classifies and stores it. The transaction gets sent to your favorite accountant software with the supporting document included.

I am in charge of developing the product at SnapX, which consists of building the development road-map of the product, making important code decisions, managing our development team, setting up the infrastructure and IT tools in the company and doing whatever is needed to help the company get to the next level.

Consultant & Freelance 2012 to Today

I offer help to individuals or enterprises that need services for their website. I can help them create their website from start to finish, add or modify functionalities on their existing website or just give them advice on web developing.

I usually use PHP (Laravel) and JavaScript to work on my websites. I usually use a custom CMS that I made for my projects, but I already worked on WordPress for a few projects.

Lead Web Developer @ Momentum Travel (FlightHub) March 2018 to June 2019

FlightHub and JustFly have established themselves as leaders in the online travel industry since 2012 and is still growing fast.

I have worked mainly on the company's online contact center platform, integrating numerous applications like Twilio, Amazon Web Services and using technologies like Laravel, ReactJS and SolarPHP.

Having worked up to lead position for the team, I've also had to manage tasks, coach developers in the team and make important code decisions on the product.

Web Developer @ OneProvider March 2017 to March 2018

Having been established in the hosting business since 2005, providing shared and dedicated hosting and online game servers on all 5 continents, OneProvider has built a powerful and steady relationship with over 80 upstream providers in over 100 datacenters, in as many cities. OneProvider can thus bring you the most affordable deals on dedicated servers and large scale hosting, all with a single bill, and a single admin panel.

I participated on the development of the company's website, the internal admin panel and the client panel. I worked mainly with PHP and JavaScript.

Lead Web Developer @ Logiciels SoluSoft (start-up) January 2016 to October 2016

I participated in the development of eSportsClub.com. eSportsClub is a platform for eSports fans. The website offers eSports real cash fantasy for CS:GO and DotA, a virtual skins marketplace, a chat, a stream and many more. I was one of the lead developers that started this project.

We used the PHP Framework Laravel for this project and we were hosted on Amazon Web Services. I worked with many external APIs, such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, PayPal and Steam. I also worked with a lot of data providers such as SportRadar to import and convert large eSports data. I worked with Git and a local VM with Docker. We used JIRA as our task managing software and Phabricator as our code review software.

Co-Founder and Lead Programmer @ Appartube.com (start-up) August 2014 to September 2016

I participated in the development of the Appartube platform and website. The Appartube platform is a module we integrate in our clients’ websites to allow their users to upload videos for free. Our main clients were websites that sold apartments. The platform would allow them to upload videos of their apartments efficiently and gives them more chance to sell their apartment.

The platform has been done in HTML, PHP and JavaScript. We worked a lot with the Brightcove APIs. The platform was hosted on Amazon Web Services and we used Git (BitBucket) as version control system.

Web and Mobile Developer @ Advantys January 2015 to January 2016

I participated in the development of new functionalities for the company’s Business Process Management (BPM) software, WorkflowGen. I also added functionalities in the software’s iOS application.

I developed in C#, HTML, JavaScript, CSS et Objective C.

I worked a lot with JS charts and grid plugins, such as jqWidgets.

Mobile development intern @ Greencopper, Montréal September 2013 to December 2013

I participated in the development of many mobile applications for music festivals and events, such as Bars en Trans, Ground Zero Festival, lille3000, etc.

I developed in Objective C (iOS), Java (Android), HTML (Blackberry) and PHP.

Web developer @ MBA Recherche, Montreal 2010 to 2014

I participated in the development of web applications for means of marketing research, such as online surveys.

I developed in HTML, PHP and JavaScript (jQuery).
